Najib Razak, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, was arrested on July 3.
On July 4, he was charged with three counts of criminal breach of trust. Najib pleaded not guilty after the case was moved to the High Court.
Like Anwar
The party he once led, the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), have something to say about the charges. The party is likening the handling of Najib's case to that of Anwar's.
On July 13, the party's strategic communications unit released a statement, which read:
"Najib will be found guilty and put into prison like how (PKR de facto leader) Anwar (Ibrahim) was treated in 1998. This is actually the priority of the vengeful (Pakatan) Harapan government."
UMNO also added that Najib had been taken to court without "solid evidence".

Anwar was a former member of UMNO and served as Finance Minister, before his falling out with then-Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad in 1998.
Anwar was then sacked, arrested, put on trial and jailed on sodomy charges -- which his supporters have always maintained were politically motivated.
After his arrest, Najib released a video claiming that the accusations against him were "not entirely true".
The High Court first set the dates for the trial for Feb. and March 2019, but the Attorney-General's Chambers later clarified that this was just an indication based on possible free dates, and the public would know more on August 8.
