Three days after the rescue operation started 10am local time on Sunday, July 8, all 12 boys and their football coach have finally been extracted from the Tham Luang caves, BBC reports.

The high-risk mission was successfully accomplished on July 10, around 7pm local time.

For each day, divers undertook nine to 12 hours of gruelling journeys into and out of the caves to rescue the football team and their coach.

Each boy was escorted by two divers on his way out.

After each full day of rescue, the operation would be halted for the night due to depleted supplies and oxygen levels.

The football team will receive counselling so that they will have no problems re-adapting.

In total, the group was stranded for more than 18 days, where they spent the first nine days undiscovered.
