Following a complaint from a female student, a local tech company was barred from the National University of Singapore (NUS)'s internship portal.
The New Paper (TNP) reported on July 23 that NUS made a police report, following a student's allegation of inappropriate conduct from a company director during a Skype interview.
The one-way Skype call, meant that the director could see the student, but she could not see him.
She also claimed that the director had offered her twice the usual internship allowance -- if she agreed to accompany him on a business trip without informing the school.
Company revealed
On July 24, the Straits Times (ST) reported that Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Lasalle College of the Arts had also removed the company from their internship portals.
Both ST and TNP did not name the company.
However, Chinese newspaper Lianhe Zaobao did so in their July 23 report.
According to Zaobao, the company in question is Apps Authority.

Other allegations
According to TNP, NUS students shared a message concerning the company director, who is married, among themselves for about a year.
This message contained unverified allegations of a sexual nature, from another intern who had previously worked at the company.
This intern apparently went on a business trip with the same director, and warned other students not to join the company.
The message was shared with the police.
Since 2016
NUS had received complaints since 2016 from three other female students who also interned with the company.
Reporting their experience of unfair work practices at the company, all three students terminated their internships.
They did not want to pursue the matter further, so no police reports were made.
However, the company was not removed from NUS's internship portal at the time.
