Singaporean Mando-pop singer Stefanie Sun celebrated her 40th birthday on Monday, July 23.

In her post, she recounted her blessings and thanked everyone for their well wishes.

Fans around the world chip in

And she has plenty of blessings to count indeed.

To mark her special day, Sun's fans from all over the world have chipped in to take out a giant advertisement on one of the world's most coveted advertising space -- the digital screens at New York City's Times Square.

They posted a video of it on July 19:

The ad, which featured a smiling Sun with her hands raised up high along and the words "Happy Birthday, Stefanie Sun", was shown prominently at the iconic NASDAQ tower.

It costs S$19,440.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the ad was displayed at the eighth minute of every hour from 6:08am to 1:08am the next day.

The ad ran for four days straight.
