oBike users told to submit deposit claims online, but form doesn't work

How frustrating.

oBike users have been urged to submit their deposit claims online if they want a refund.

This latest advice is courtesy of the Consumers Association of Singapore (Case).

Affected consumers with existing deposits with the bike-sharing operator should submit their claim together with relevant supporting documents online at https://www.obikedepositholders.com/.

The liquidators will examine and adjudicate on all claims received.

Consumers may contact Case for further assistance (hotline: 6100 0315, website: www.case.org.sg) if they are unsure about the submission of claims.

Difficult to negotiate

Case said it is difficult to negotiate directly with the business as it has ceased operations.

Since oBike is now in liquidation, affected consumers should submit their claims to the liquidators, which is the usual practice for liquidation cases.

Nevertheless, should consumers need help on submitting a claim, they may approach Case for free advice, Case said.

How liquidation is carried out

"The Provisional Liquidators will be liasing with the company's director and shareholder/ founders regarding this issue, and to discuss whether it is their intention to provide such a refund," the liquidators told Today without saying when the meeting would take place.

"Further updates will be provided to deposit holders in due course," they added.

Form not working

However, the online form to submit one's details to claim a refund is apparently not working.

When taken to the page, it says the form is no longer accepting responses.

Some users who tried filling up the form complained it required too many personal details and after trying to submit it, the page says it is not allowed.
