It seems like veteran local Chinese actresses Hong Huifang and Pan Lingling are no longer friends.
According to Shinmin Daily News (SMDN), Hong had sent out a lengthy WhatsApp message to Pan and copied it to many members of the local Chinese entertainment industry.
The message allegedly laid out Hong's frustrations with her fellow actress, where the latter was accused of bullying Hong and her son.
Hong then vowed to cut Pan out of her life.
The last straw
The incident that triggered Hong's actions happened around end June 2018, SMDN reported.
During a meal with their circle which both Pan and Hong attended, Pan supposedly blabbed openly about the personal love life of Hong's son, Calvert Tay.
This allegedly angered Hong, who was protective of her son.
According to SMDN, Hong allegedly sent out a warning message to Pan after the meal, demanding that she hold her tongue regarding the issue in future.
However, post-incident, Hong got wind that Pan has been gossiping about Tay again.
This time, she reportedly sent out another warning message to Pan but also included no less than 50 of their mutual friends.

Screenshots of the message
Here are a couple of screenshots of the message posted by SMDN on July 23:
"Enough is enough, Pan Lingling, you better listen up. I have already made my stand very clear! Why is it that I still hear that you're going around talking about them [...]"
"Don't anger me further, if not I will send this to more people!"
Industry friends shocked
Hong's message shocked industry people such as Vivian Lai, Chen Hanwei, and Chen Xiuhuan, SMDN wrote.
Hong allegedly mentioned in her message that she was subjected to more than 10 years of bullying by Pan, and her son was also allegedly bullied by the latter.
One of the people who supposedly received the message was ex-Mediacorp actress Sora Ma, who wrote about the topic on Lianhe Wanbao:
A few days ago in the morning, I received a "shocking" electronic message. It was a "break up letter" addressed to an artiste by name. At first glance, I thought I had received it by mistake. When I perused it further, I got a big shock - can such a thing really estrange a friendship that spans decades?
However, it should be noted that we could not locate the column on Ma's Facebook page even though she directed her Instagram readers to Facebook to read the entire column.

Cryptic posts on Instagram
Around the time of the blabbing incident in June 2018, Hong put up the following text post on Instagram:
The post reads:
"When dealing with a hypocrite, you do not scold her, nor expose her. Instead, let her continue to be her hypocritical self while you pretend to know nothing. Eventually, people will come to you to tell you how hypocritical she is."
Her caption says,
"These words are absolutely right, there are plenty of such people around us."
More recently on July 19 , Hong also uploaded this selfie below with a caption that vows to stay away from people who are insincere, and that "everyone is responsible for their actions and words".
Speaking to the media
In response to SMDN on July 22, Hong said that she was busy filming and only issued this cryptic response: "3-feet deep ice does not freeze over in a day".
She also confirmed that she sent that "break-up letter".
Pan, on the other hand, initially did not reply and hung up on SMDN, according to the article.
However, the July 23 Facebook post by SMDN wrote that Pan eventually replied, saying "Let's just let time heal all wounds".
Working on the same project
Both Hong and Pan are currently in the midst of filming a new Channel 8 drama "The Extraordinary Ordinary".
When SMDN contacted their drama supervisor, she said she had not heard of any incidents between them on set, nor of any previous bad blood between the two.
She also added that both are professional veteran actors who aren't likely to cause a scene at work.
