GrabHitch & Ryde drivers meet same picky woman in S'pore complaining cars too old & small

Only big and comfortable cars allowed, according to the woman passenger's logic.

Singapore is a small country, but who would have thought it can be this small.

One GrabHitch driver recounted picking up a woman passenger who was super picky as she complained that the car she boarded was too old and cramped.

This was what the driver posted in a GrabHitch Facebook group on July 26, 2018 about the picky woman he encountered:

To summarise, the driver encountered a rider who complained that his nine-year-old Proton Saga was "old, underpowered, small, cramped, and uncomfortable".

The rider then berated him for providing a GrabHitch service with his "small" car.

"If you can’t afford to rent or buy such a car (like a Toyota Camry), then don’t do Private Hire or carpool," she allegedly said, before proceeding to show him her notebook containing her blacklist of “small and uncomfortable cars”.

This list included "basically all the 1.0 - 1.6 litres cars like Hyundai Getz, Perodua Kenari, Mitsubishi Colt".

She then included "Proton Saga" in her list.

The driver mused whether he would even be providing a GrabHitch service if he can afford a better luxury car, because driving one indicates he probably does not need to earn extra cash.

Blacklist lady strikes again on same day

It turned out that this GrabHitch driver wasn't the last the private hire driving community in Singapore had seen of the picky passenger. For the day.

Later in that day, a Ryde driver received a request for a ride from Choa Chu Kang to Woodlands.

It turned out to be the same lady.

This time round, a 10-year-old Subaru Impreza ride was also unable to meet the demanding rider's expectations:

The lady began by asking if the Subaru Impreza is "bigger than a Proton Saga".

She let on that she had an unpleasant experience with a Proton Saga in the morning.

Upon hearing that the Subaru is a hatchback, she exclaimed: "OMG!!!! That's small! I was expecting it to be bigger".

She reasoned that since she is paying more for the Ryde journey (S$15.20 from Choa Chu Kang to Woodlands), she expected the car to be bigger and more comfortable.

She then asked the driver, who was on his way already, to wait while she tried to get a "better car" via GrabHitch, which she finally did on GrabHitch.
