Zhang Xiaoen, a 29-year-old man from Hangzhou, is facing prison time for fraud.

He had borrowed millions of dollars from his friends and has been unable to repay them.

A major contributing factor in Zhang's descent into debt was the money he spent on his model and live-streamer girlfriend, Yang Yizhen.

Here are some of the items that Zhang, who is married, allegedly bought her.

This lavish lifestyle led to Zhang taking S$14 million from his father's company to upkeep his lavish purchases.

To turn a quick buck, he also took to gambling, which he blamed Yang for egging him on.

He followed this up by borrowing even more money from friends for his gambling habit. The losses then accumulated to S$34.7 million.

After being unable to repay the money, the lenders reported Zhang to the police.

Zhang's girlfriend has apparently been helping prosecutors build a case to put him away.

She has also been posting pictures with other men on her social media account.
