United States president Donald Trump will be in Singapore on Sunday, June 10, night.

Arrival two days before summit

Trump's Air Force One is expected to land at the Paya Lebar Airbase.

He will be here two days before the meeting with North Korea leader Kim Jong-un.

According to White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, Trump will "travel directly" to Singapore on Saturday after attending the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Charlevoix, Canada.

The Friday statement said: "President Trump will depart the G7 Summit at Charlevoix at 10.30am Saturday (local time)... The President will travel directly to Singapore from Canada in anticipation of his upcoming meeting with North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un (on) Tuesday."

The flight time from Canada to Singapore is about 17 hours.

What can Singaporeans expect

Based on past visits, the presence of the US president will be keenly felt by motorists, pedestrians and public transport commuters.

Singaporeans in public can expect to see entire roads shut down temporarily several minutes before the presidential motorcade travels through uninterrupted.

It will be quite a sight.
