The Singapore Police Force is investigating a case of alleged criminal trespass into the residence of the Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (a.k.a. North Korea).

On June 8, the police posted on its Facebook page that it had arrested two South Korean men, aged 42 and 45, in relation to the case.

The two men represent Korean Broadcasting System News (KBSN).

Another 31-year-old South Korean man, who also represents KBSN, is currently under investigation.

A fourth South Korean man, 29 years old, is also under investigations. He acted as the guide and interpreter for the group.

The police received a call for assistance on June 7, at about 3.50pm.

According to the police, the three men representing KBSN are not accredited media personnel in Singapore.

Members of the media who commit "any offence" in Singapore will not be accredited and therefore will be unable to cover the historic Trump-Kim summit.

The police also said in the post:

"The Police would like to remind all foreigners visiting Singapore to abide by our laws. Those who break the law will be dealt with firmly, and this may include termination of visas and repatriation."

The possible penalty for criminal trespass is a prison sentence of up to three months, a fine of S$1,500, or both.

North Korea and Singapore have established diplomatic relations since the 1970s.
