Orchard Road will become a No-Smoking Zone by end-2018.
With that, eating places will have until end-2018 to phase out smoking corners.
Come end-2018, the only places along Orchard Road you can smoke at will be Designated Smoking Areas (DSA).
DSA are usually small, not more than 10 square metres in size. They're also tend to be located away from places with high foot traffic. They look like this:
To date, there are 30 establishments along Orchard Road that have put up DSAs.
Five of these DSAs are publicly own. These are found at Orchard Towers, Far East Plaza, The Heeren, Cuppage Terrace, and behind Somerset MRT station.
