A young man has allegedly been filmed trying to take an upskirt video of a female passenger travelling up an escalator at Bishan MRT station.
The incident occurred on May 3, at 4.55pm.
Spotted from afar
The alleged perpetrator, who we understand is 27 years old, was spotted by a passer-by who then proceeded to take a video of the incident:
Recording mode on
According to Fitri, the alleged perpetrator had his phone in the video recording mode even before he went up the escalator.
The device was pointed upwards in the direction of a female passenger just one step in front of him on the escalator, and was partially covered with a wallet, which was resting on the young man's left knee.
Subsequently, Fitri handed the alleged perpetrator over to the police, along with the upskirt video that was taken.
Fitri said the young man might have done the same thing before, judging by the way he responded to questions by the police officers.
Speaking to Mothership.sg, Fitri said the alleged perpetrator had his mobile phone confiscated and was questioned.
Fitri then made a Facebook post warning the public about the incident.

Beware of this pervert lurking around Bishan MRT taking upskirt videos. Managed to spot him from afar with his wallet covering a part of his phone screen which was already in video recording mode even before he went up the escalator. Handed him along with the video he took to the police officers and IO after that.
Pretty sure he’s been doing this for quite some time from the way he responded to the questions asked by the police officers and myself.
The intention of this post is to raise endless awareness and most importantly to expose the pervert himself.
