In the second half of 2017, news broke that American fast food chain A&W will be returning to Singapore in 2018:

While things have been quiet in 2018 so far, job listings for A&W in Singapore appeared on JobStreet on May 20, 2018.

Hiring managers in the east

There are a total of four listings -- Restaurant Manager, Assistant Restaurant Manager, Training Manager, and Area Manager:

Experience required range from one year for the assistant restaurant manager, to three years for the rest of the posts.

Restaurant manager/ assistant restaurant manager

  • Accountable for overall performance of restaurant in terms of sales and profitability
  • Responsible for training all restaurant employees in food preparation, sanitisation, and customer service.

Training manager

  • Responsible for providing resources, support, and encouragement on training matters to restaurant managers and training staff to comply with A&W's standards.
  • Assess the training needs in the company and roll out training programs
  • Build teamwork among all A&W staff
  • Update materials and formulate preparation procedures for new products with the Research and Development department.

  • Responsible for optimising sales revenue and maximising net profit within assigned territory.
  • Monitor and identify the needs of manpower for each restaurant within assigned territory.
  • Prepare annual business, development, and marketing plans for each of the restaurant within assigned territory.
