We enjoyed the fashion roasting at the S'pore Star Awards more than the show itself

Still fun without Rui En there to throw shade.

Sunday night's Star Awards was a night of hits and misses.

Like the awwww-moment when Jin Yinji, Channel 8's most famous long-suffering grandma finally made it into the Top 10 Female Artistes:

#BossMode

(More on that here, btw:

Or when local TV's Gif(ed) Queen Paige Chua lost the Best Actress award to Rebecca Lim:

That d*mn Rebecca Lim again?! Ha ha ha. (subs added by an EDMW user)

"Hahahaha better luck next year"

Master Shade-Thrower Rui En was also missing in action, depriving us of an otherwise-healthy dose of Monday water-cooler gossip. Instead we were subjected to a hologram of her spouting vague truisms.

Come back next year please. We miss this:

But this year's arguably lacklustre Star Awards was made slightly more palatable by amusing running commentary on the sartorial choices of the shiny people on TV... on Twitter.

As per tradition, there was the curtain/rug/pillow case brigade:

Special mention goes to Lee Teng who wouldn't settle for a boring tux:

And of course, the unexplainable:

Well what can we say, sometimes fashion leaves us scratching our heads too. To more fashion disasters at next year's Star Awards!
