Suddenly, turned on by laksa.

Get ready to be turned on by processed food because this may be the weirdest or most amazing thing you'll see all week.

Singapore laksa cup noodles has been anthropomorphised by getting turned into a handsome anime man straight out of a fictional host club in Japan.

Say what?

For the uninitiated, how host clubs work is that the female clients can purchase the company, time and affection of a handsome and suave male host.

To some girls, this is pretty much like fulfilling the fantasy of having a handsome boyfriend for a short time by paying for it with a sizable sum of money.

But we digress. Singapore, meet Lak, the (2D) man in question.

Lak, pronounced as Raku (because the Japanese cannot deal with "k" in English), is one of the three host club characters the Japanese instant noodle brand created to promote their "Ethnic" line of instant noodles.

The other two flavours include Tom Yum and Black Pepper Crab.

Lak's name is a homonym for "joy", and the characters in his name can also be understood as "paradise".

He sounds flirty and feminine, but every other part of him is more like a fiery bowl of laksa: Lak has beng-worthy blonde hair, a laksa soup-patterned suit, fur in the shape of taupok (fried beancurd) on his shoulders.

Lak is also wearing a pair of shoes that were bought on impulse from Singapore as well. Perhaps he fell in love with laksa while on holiday in Singapore?

To top it off, he also sports a coriander pendant and a coconut belt buckle, in reference to the coconut milk used in preparing laksa.

Because it's chicken laksa, he happens to have a pet rooster on his shoulder. Totally not weird at all.

He also has a song sensually describing the qualities of laksa.

Which probably explains why he might want to sleep with it.

Interestingly, in one of the voice clips uploaded to the website, he also declares that until he gets a hot, piping bowl of Singapore-style laksa, he won't get out of bed.

We suppose he's a bit more relatable than we thought.
