As carpool drivers ferrying strangers around the island in the name of reducing carbon footprint or recovering fuel costs, they probably do not know the roads as well as the professional private hire vehicle or taxi drivers.

So, it is common for carpool drivers to share carpooling experiences, such as the type of riders and potential tricky locations with one another.

One such driver posted a public service announcement one day to warn fellow drivers about the perils of Leonie Hill Road and Leonie Hill on Facebook.
