Malaysian-Chinese rapper Namewee has made headlines again, but for an unfortunate reason this time.

On Feb. 18, Malaysian state wire agency Bernama confirmed that the police are investigating the rapper's latest video, which supposedly offends local sensibilities.

Titled "Like a Dog", the video was uploaded to YouTube on Feb. 10. You can watch it below:

Police investigation

According to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun, an investigation paper has been opened on the clip.

In the video, Namewee's dancers can be seen wearing dog masks and performing "vulgar moves".

At the beginning of the video, one dancer with a dog mask appears to be humping another dancer, also wearing a dog mask.

The video takes place in front of the Putra Perdana Building. Located in Putrajaya, it houses the Prime Minister's Office.

Previous trouble

This isn't the first time that Namewee has landed in hot soup after making a controversial video.

In Aug. 2016, the rapper was arrested and held in jail for four days after the release his video titled "Oh My God", which caused outrage for allegedly insulting Islam.

Depictions of dogs have also previously caused controversy in Malaysia.

In Jan. 2018, a t-shirt sold in a Giant hypermart in Klang Valley had a Chinese zodiac design, but it was missing depictions of the dog and pig characters.

In Feb. 2018, a advertisement printed by a Malaysian ministry depicted a rooster, instead of a dog.
