Now, Spanish upscale fashion brand ZARA is selling what looks suspiciously like your grandfather's lungi on their site for USD 89.80, which converts to SGD 118.21.
The lungi is a sarong-like garment, typically worn by men (although it is unisex) in various parts of Asia, especially India and Myanmar.
Its airiness and versatility make it appropriate for these countries' tropical climate.
In Singapore, lungis can be found at places like Mustafa — a giant departmental store & supermarket — for very low prices.

The fashion retailer describes the garment as a "flowing skirt with draped detail in the front" and with a "front slit detail at the hem".
