Did you open up your umbrella instinctively this afternoon and notice that there were no raindrops?
The sun, the evening sun, has returned on Sunday.
It's freezing in Admiralty and Jurong West
According to the National Environmental Agency (NEA), Admiralty and Jurong West recorded a temperature of 21.2°C at around 5am this morning.
This is the lowest temperature recorded so far this year and since 2016.[related_story]
Singapore will get warmer over the next few days
NEA observed that the "rainy weather has eased this morning with the gradual weakening of the monsoon surge in the South China Sea".
Monsoon surge refers to a sudden increase in wind speed, which brings cool air and rain into Singapore from the winter chill in the northern hemisphere.
NEA predicted that the rest of Sunday is likely to be cloudy with occasional light rain in the afternoon.
The good news or bad news, depending on whether you are a summer or a winter person, is that Singapore will become warmer soon.
NEA announced that the lowest temperature is expected to range between 23°C and 24°C over the next few days, and noted that "a dip to below 22°C is not likely".
