Singapore is ushering in the 2018 New Year in a wet and wild fashion.
Temperatures are expected to dive to a low of 23°C on Jan. 1, 2018, as Singapore gets lashed by thundery showers, according to the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS).
The cool weather kicked in on New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, 2017.
Temperatures ranged between 23°C and 27°C that day as the sky emptied itself all over the island.
Showers are still expected on Monday, Jan. 1.
On New Year's Day, temperatures will range from 23°C to 29°C.
The thundery showers is due to a monsoon surge in the South China Sea, which is forecast to only weaken on New Year's Day.
This is not the coolest temperatures Singapore has experienced.
The lowest minimum temperature recorded in 2017 was 22.3°C on Dec. 14 in the northern part of Singapore.
However, the lowest temperature ever recorded in Singapore was 19.4°C on two days in January 1934.
