Electronics giant Samsung has on Wednesday (Jan. 17) opened a brand-new, first in Southeast Asia concept store at VivoCity.

With concierge services, a phone customisation booth and even a café, it might end up being the best place to kill time while waiting for your queue number to be called.

Samsung's Singapore president Lee Jui Siang said the new store is designed to provide "one-stop service" to consumers, allowing a visitor to experience Samsung's range of mobile products.

At its customer service centre, one can have their devices diagnosed, repaired and serviced all in-house.

Yup, there are full-time technicians stationed in-store who can work on fixing your phone right away. In-store repair services for smartphones and tablets are available from 11am to 9pm daily.

They've also got a quick repair service, which they say finishes the job within an hour.

Making your phone pretty

The store also carries a customisation corner, that lets you design drawstring bags from your Galaxy Note 8. It also provides an engraving service for your phone cover.

And as mentioned, even if you aren’t waiting for a repair or customisation job, you can still charge your devices wirelessly at the store’s in-house café:

Bored from tailing your wives/girlfriends/family shopping?

You can try out the store’s 4D VR rides with Samsung’s Gear VR system en route to the washroom. And perhaps on your way back from it.

Also launched on Wednesday are Samsung’s new Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ phones.

Available in gold and black, it will be sold from Jan 27 at $648 and $798 respectively.

These new phones are built with Samsung's first dual front camera with live focus. And it can take selfies and wefies, even in low-light conditions.

Should be quite nifty for millennials at the cinema or in the quiet areas of Fort Canning, Mount Faber and Botanic Gardens.
