Michelle Christine is a Canadian comedian based in Los Angeles.

On Jan. 13, just four days before she was due to arrive in Singapore to perform, she announced on forum Reddit Singapore that she's looking for a tour guide on Jan. 17.

Offers come in

About an hour later, the first offer came in:

Oh I'm free and able to show you around. I'm a university student so I don't have work commitments in the morning. You can pm me.

And it wasn't the only offer:

If you like art, Singapore is running the annual Art Week which comprises of multiple group shows / exhibitions running through, islandwide. Drop me a message if you're keen to visit around!

Nooooo, I wanted to get tickets but there's none available left T.T

I'm free to bring you around in the evenings and weekends if it's something you're interested in :) could link up with the other redditors too!

Midway, they were joined by another Redditor.

They then took her to Gardens by the Bay, which she had seen on history documentary Planet Earth 2.

Positive experience

The comedian even posted about her positive experience on Reddit afterwards:

I had so much fun, and despite being fresh off an 18 hour flight, the adrenaline of being in a new city kept me going.

It was a joy to see the city with some locals, and one reddit tour guide turned into two in the middle of the day. I loved hearing more about what it is like to live here. Pics!

I was so overwhelmed that all the tickets for the show on Sunday are gone, the venue agreed to let me add a show this Saturday Jan 20 from 6:30pm-7:30pm, you can get tickets here! I don't want anyone to miss out who wanted to come!

Can't wait :)

Good to see Singaporeans being friendly.
