A famous overflowing Ikura Don (which translates to fish roe rice bowl) from Hokkaido will be served in Singapore from now till Wednesday, Jan. 31, thanks to a temporary collaboration between Japanese restaurant Hachikyo and local chain Teppei Syokudo.
This is what the Ikura Don looks like in Japan:
The salmon roe is brined in soy sauce and then poured over a bowl of rice, with each scoop punctuated by a dramatic, heaving shout:
The chefs from Hachikyo are even here in Singapore to serve us the bowls:
The Ikura is imported from Hokkaido, and each bowl will set you back by S$29.80.

In Japan, it costs S$23.96 for a small serving, S$29.98 for a medium serving, and S$60.08 for a large serving.
This is available at Teppei Syokudo Asia Square from 11pm-2pm, and at Teppei Syokudo Millenia Walk from 6pm - 8pm for a very limited time till Wednesday, Jan. 31.
