Japanese "gluttonous beauty" devours Hainanese chicken rice and other Singapore dishes

A whopping 4,000 calories.

You may recall her valiant and successful effort in April when she ate 10 Singapore chilli crab cup noodles at one go. And we were all wondering how did she not end up with a stomachache.

More than half a year later, Yuka Kinoshita, the popular "gluttonous beautiful woman" (大食い美女 or "oogui bijyo") from Japan is showing her prowess at devouring massive amounts of Singapore dishes again.

Latest video features Singapore dishes again

Mukbang, which started in South Korea in 2010, is an online trend that involves a “host” devouring massive amounts of food while people watch on a streaming platform (either live or recorded). It is a phenomenon that has gained traction in pop culture over the years.

Yuka Kinoshita has a successful YouTube channel showcasing her Mukbang series.

This isn’t the first time she has included local food in her Mukbang videos and she has also tried other Singapore food in the past, such as Myojo’s Mee Poh Dry and Prima Taste Curry Lamian.

In her latest video, she chose to devour 4 well-known Singapore dishes (well, she separated the dishes into 8 items), which added up to a whopping 4,000 calories.

That's 2,000 calories higher than the average amounts generally recommended for an average woman.

Here's what she ate:

1. Hainanese chicken rice

She started off with our favourite national dish, Hainanese chicken rice, or "steamed chicken" and "fragrant rice" as she calls it.

And yes, that's 4 bowls of chicken rice.

Not forgetting the all-important sauces and soup that help the main dish tastes even better.

2. Chilli prawn and mantou

Next up is chilli prawns, probably a substitution for our beloved chilli crabs.

She even dips the mantou into the chilli sauce, just like a typical Singaporean.

3. Roast chicken

She also tried roast chicken, "steamed chicken's" cousin cooked in a different way.

4. Onion omelette (hawker style)

We're not sure if onion omelette is truly local (or Chinese), but we shall assume it's authentic.

At the end of the clip, you can hear a satisfied Yuka Kinoshita say "yummy" four times:

"The Singaporean food was so yummy. The steamed chicken was so moist, and tasted so nice and the skin was so wonderful and tasty. The chilli prawns were really yummy and when you dipped the mantou in them, you just can't stop. I thought that it would have been super yummy with some rice or egg. I just realised that after I finished eating it. Singapore is full of yummy dishes."

If you think you can finish the whole video without feeling the urge to grab a bite, here's the entire clip:
