We know US President Donald Trump has grandkids who are fans of Chinese culture.

When Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the US in April this year,  two of Trump’s grandchildren, five-year-old Arabella with her three-year-old brother, Joseph -- the two elder children of his eldest daughter Ivanka, his son-in-law Jared Kushner, showcased their Mandarin-speaking skills to visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping and first lady Peng Liyuan.

Granddaughter diplomacy

And Arabella has once again stepped in to play diplomat for her grandfather Trump, who is on a three-day state visit to China as part of his Asia-Pacific tour.

As the two state leaders drank tea at the century-old Bao Yun Lou, a former library building in the Forbidden City in Beijing on Nov. 8, Trump took the chance to show Xi and his wife Peng a video of Arabella on his tablet singing in Mandarin and reciting a part of the Three-Character Classic and ancient Chinese poems.

In the video released by China state news agency Xinhua's social media platform, Arabella shows her grandfather how to win friends and not make enemies, affectionately calling Trump's Chinese counterpart and his wife "Grandpa Xi" and "Grandma Peng".

An impressed Xi lavished praises at her performance, rating it "A+" and called her a "little star". He also said he hoped she could visit China soon.

Translation: Sigh, being a child means you'll often be called upon by adults to perform for them. The first family is not an exception.
