The Singapore national football team has officially gone without a victory in the last 12 months.

The last match they won was against Cambodia in a friendly on Nov. 13, 2016.

Singapore will take on Bahrain at the National Stadium on Tuesday, Nov. 14, in an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup Group E qualifier.

This will be the Singapore's final game of the year.

The Football Association Singapore's press release ahead of the Bahrain game -- like its previous statement that insisted our national team is actually improving despite the realities of the multitudinous setbacks of the sport -- was again unusually perky and upbeat:

Despite encouraging results like the 0-0 draw with Bahrain earlier in the year, Singapore have not been able to claim a win in 2017 after playing against quality opponents like Argentina, Qatar and Lebanon.

A win against Bahrain will be a bit too much to ask for, with the visitors in need of a win to secure their place in the premier tournament.
