Easties, rejoice. Northeasties too.

You no longer have to make your way to Kranji, Woodlands and Jurong East to travel up north to Johor Bahru (JB).

Take Me To Malaysia, a travel agency based in Singapore, will have weekend shuttle buses from Tampines and Punggol to AEON Bandar Dato Onn, a new shopping mall in JB.

Tampines and Punggol were chosen due to the lack of public transportation from these locations to JB.

The service will begin from Nov. 11, 2017.

Return trips from AEON Bandar Dato Onn is also available at 7pm and 9.30pm.

The 49-seater coach will go through the Woodlands Causeway for all trips.

Each ride can take any time between 90 to 120 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

S$8 per pax for a limited time

The convenience will cost you, though.

The promotional prices are S$8 and S$16 for a one-way and two-way trip respectively.

Once the promotion ends, a one-way ticket can cost you up to S$12 and a two-way ticket will be up to S$24.

Tickets can be pre-booked online - only your name and NRIC/passport number are required.

Other ways to enter JB

If you find this service to be too much of a pinch to your pockets, there are several other options:

KTM Shuttle

Taking the KTM Shuttle from Woodlands CIQ Complex will set you back by S$5 and will only take you five minutes to reach JB.

Online booking is advisable, especially for weekend trips as tickets can be sold out.

Public buses

Public bus services from Kranji, Jurong East, Woodlands and even Bugis are the most affordable way to cross the border, with costs ranging between S$1.40 and S$3.30 that can be deducted from your Ez-Link cards.

But of course, you won't be guaranteed a seat, so be prepared to stand for long hours during peak periods.
