The Singapore national football team has achieved the worst-ever Fifa world rankings ever at 173, according to the latest table published on Monday, Oct. 16.
Dropped 11 places
The Lions dropped 11 notches from September's ranking of 162 to 173.
The team suffered October defeats to Turkmenistan in an Asian Cup qualifier tie and Qatar in an international friendly.
Singapore's previous lowest ranking in the 206-team table was 171, in October 2016.
Last victory 11 months ago
V Sundramoorthy's side last won 1-0 in a friendly against Cambodia back in November 2016.
Singapore is now ranked behind minnows such as Laos (162), Cambodia (170), as well as St. Vincent and the Grenadines (172).
Causeway rivals Malaysia are ranked 170.
Singapore's 162 rank last month was four spots ahead of Malaysia.
Philippines is the highest-ranked Southeast Asian team in the rankings in 116th.
World Cup champions Germany top the standings followed by Brazil, Portugal and Argentina.
