Triggered.

To Singapore drivers who park illegally out of convenience, police officers are definitely their kryptonite.

So imagine the reaction if one of them happen to see a police car seemingly flouting the same rule that police officers should be enforcing.

Triggered.

On Sept. 1, a netizen, Cinorom Elicebmi posted his observation of a police car parked illegally along River Valley Road on Facebook while he was having dinner.

Seeing a policeman standing outside a roti prata shop, he thought he could put two and two together and decided that this was evidence of police trying to be above the law.

Plot Twist

But of course, there's a twist to this story.

Actually, the police officers were not there to tabao (takeaway) prata but were instead managing an urgent case as clarified by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) in their comments to a netizen.

For your convenience, here's the reply from SPF in the comments:

Hi YJ, our officers were indeed attending to an urgent case reported at 421 River Valley Road and had to quickly reach the incident location.

The Police seek the public's understanding and would also like to urge them not to spread unsubstantiated information.

Thank you.

The police told The Straits Times that the officers were attending to a case of public nuisance.

The post has since been taken down after the clarification was made.
