We all know breakups can make people go crazy. But how crazy?

On Sept. 19, a 25-year-old man from China's Henan province reportedly scattered a stack of cash in public after he was dumped by his girlfriend.

Upon investigation, the man said that his reason for doing so was to "let the world be filled with love".

Scattering money

Two days after his breakup, the lovelorn was at a train station in Zhejiang province when he decided to carry out the act.

At the ticketing counter, the young man suddenly turned around and scattered a stack of CNY$100 (S$20) and CNY$50 (S$10) notes.

In total, the total amount of all the scattered cash was CNY$3,950 (S$809).

Let the world be filled with love

The case was subsequently investigated by a security guard after the scene was caught on CCTV footage.

When the security guard managed to find the depressed, he asked him what was going on.

The man replied that he was feeling heartbroken, so he wanted to take a stroll and have a breather.

He then decided that he wanted to "let the world be filled with love", and so he scattered the money, thinking he could make others happy.

He also added that all the money was his uncle's.
