Western Union armed robber photographed with white helmet on, might be Stormtrooper

A man armed with a knife robbed the Western Union branch at Block 301 Ubi Avenue 1 on Tuesday, August 1, the second armed robbery to take place in Singapore on two consecutive days.

He forced an employee to hand over more than S$2,000 in cash before escaping on foot, according to details shared by the Singapore Police Force.

The suspect remains at large. The police have released the following photo, believed to be of the alleged robber:

Unfortunately, the suspect's face happens to be obscured by his white helmet. Commenters were quick to note the similarity to a famous movie villain.

Just a day prior, a Shell petrol station at 219 Upper Bukit Timah Road was robbed of more than S$1,100.

The suspect, a 48-year-old man, has been arrested and will be charged in court on Wednesday, Aug. 2.
