Cool.

Motivational speech

But if there is one thing sports movies have taught us, it is that training and natural talent alone does not propel the protagonist to a proper pummelling.

More often than not, it is the words of a distraught spouse, a vanquished rival, or hot-blooded coach that eventually opens the gates to victory.

Steven Lim might not have access to the 3 prior categories mentioned above, but that's not stopping him from giving himself the best motivational speech Singapore has ever seen.

Here it is.

Here are his inspirational words.

INT: Steven Lim's house (probably)

There's a strange buzzing noise in the background, like someone getting their head shaved, or a very obnoxious bee.

Steven Lim (SL): *Breathes heavily for 20 seconds*

*Leans uncomfortably close to the mirror*

SL: STEVEN LIM!

*Pushes down on mirror by mistake, looks worried*

SL: Oh shoot.

*Regains composure*

SL: I know you don't have girlfriend at the moment... I want you to get a girlfriend now...soon!

*Steps back from the mirror, softly caresses face with non-camera holding hand*

SL: You're not that young anymore ok? it's time for you to get married!

*Dramatic pause, leans back towards the mirror*

SL: But first...I need you (himself) to win Sylvester Sim at the Asiaaaa Fighting Championship on the (Incoherent) of September 2017.

*Points at his mirror self*

SL: I need you to win! 頑張って! 頑張って!

*Heavy breathing again*

*Goes over to end video*

*Pushes back hair instead*

*Finally ends video*

*Wipes tears of motivation from my eye*
