Update, July 8, 2017: SBS Transit's senior vice-president of corporate communications Tammy Tan said the service 72 bus captain "suddenly felt dizzy for a few seconds". The bus then veered from its path and ended on the other side of the road. The bus captain recovered within seconds and brought the bus to a halt. No passengers were hurt. The 54-year-old bus captain was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital in a conscious state.

The aftermath of SBS bus service 72 in a stationary position facing the wrong direction has been caught on camera.

The incident happened on Friday, July 7, around 10am along Yio Chu Kang Road towards Serangoon Central.

The windscreen of the bus was shattered as broken railings strewn on the side of the road could be seen in one video:

Traffic police were on the scene to divert traffic around the stationary bus as there was only one free right-most lane for motorists to use.

Just a day before this incident, a black Toyota Camry was seen on video driving against the flow of traffic along Bukit Timah Road in the rain, as cars approaching in the correct direction had to get out of the way.
