In Singapore-style efficiency, and while the rest of Singapore is still trying to absorb and get through the almost-4000-word-long bomb dropped by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, his younger brother has responded in no less than two Facebook statuses.
In the first, Lee Hsien Yang (LHY) made the following points:
- Stanford Law (Lee Suet Fern's law firm) assisted the late Lee Kuan Yew with his will at his (LKY's) request.
- (this is a reiteration, but) Hsien Loong didn't raised issues with the last will in the many months after it was read.
- (again, a reiteration) Probate was granted for the last version of the will (the seventh) in October 2015. So it's the final, full and legally-binding one.
- Hsien Loong should not be using his subordinates to say what he didn't say in court.
- He also alleges that Hsien Loong is contradicting himself between his Parliament speech and statutory declaration.
He also asked: Does his older brother think their father was unwavering in his wish for the demolition of the house to materialise? Which statement is false?
We're inclined to wonder that too.
He then published a photograph of the demolition clause of their father's will, complete with his signature at the bottom of the paragraph:
