Never judge a book by its cover.

While people randomly report cosplayers to the police in Singapore, there's a group of individuals that does charity work in Indonesia -- while in cosplay.

Meet Organisasi Akatsuki Afkar.

They're a bunch of guys who go around dressed as the villain organisation Akatsuki in the anime and manga series Naruto, while actively contributing to society, such as picking up litter and carrying out charitable acts.

Roughly translated from this Facebook post, the roots of the group started as a political party of sorts, which has since dissolved.

It then transformed into this Akatsuki Afkar group.

"Afkar" means "thinking", while the word "Akatsuki" is the word for "dawn". Akatsuki is the major antagonist group throughout the Naruto series.

According to the organisation, however, it's not because they wanted to replicate the villain's evil ways, but that they admired the mysterious, strong qualities of the organisation made up of people with different strengths and Akatsuki's initial goal of changing the world.

We're not entirely sure if this organisation has any more political aspirations per se.

But as per their political roots, they do consider raising political awareness as part of the activities they do, which includes promoting sports, art, culture and religion.

Good to see the villains of Naruto turning over a new leaf.
