Here's something you might have missed.
June 15, 2017, was the day a thunderstorm swept through most parts of Singapore till noon time.
Then it was spent catching up with every single update about the Lee family saga.
But what made the day different for some was the sky at twilight as it glowed a dramatic ombré orange like this:
This is not the first time.
As previously reported, a similar ombré pink sky appeared earlier in February.
Its appearance then could be due to the downpour in the day earlier:
As the rain clouds from Saturday afternoon dissipated or departed in the evening, it’s likely the band of clouds left behind was slanting and thin, which reflected more of the orange and red light of sunset in the lower atmosphere. The storm also washed off larger air particles, which usually dull the sky colour, allowing this dramatic filtering effect that we saw.
Here's a time lapse of the sunset on June 15.
