Even during peak hour.

Miss Junaidah boards the MRT at Tampines and alights at Commonwealth every morning. And for every single journey, the SMRT staff at Commonwealth station will be awaiting her arrival - because Miss Junaidah is visually impaired.

She informs the station staff at Tampines station when she boards the train, who in turn inform the Commonwealth station staff of her train car and door numbers in anticipation of her arrival. When Miss Junaidah reaches, a member of SMRT will guide her to the station concourse and bring her a chair, where she will sit while she waits for a friend to guide her to their workplace nearby.

All this started about a month ago, when the staff at Commonwealth station noticed Miss Junaidah standing near the Passenger Service Centre for some time. After they learned about her routine from her, the station's management would assign a staff to wait for Miss Junaidah at the platform to assist her everyday, no matter how busy they get.

According to the post on SMRT's Facebook:

“I’m very appreciative towards the station staff. This is the first station that offered me a chair to sit down,” Miss Junaidah said with a laugh.
