Exceptionally talented Mediacorp actress Paige Chua is winning over hordes of viewers with her acting chops in the recently-concluded Mightiest Mother-in-Law drama series on Channel 8.
With her halo shining brightly, her alma mater Mayflower Secondary School borrowed some of that glow in a four-minute video promoting the school and its Direct School Admission on May 8, 2017:
Chua, who is from the class of 1997 and a former netball player, is a natural ambassador.
Her winsome smile and earnestness make for a natural sell, especially when she could barely contain her emotions in the video while reminiscing her stint, the camaraderie and the close ties forged in Mayflower Secondary School, which she said was a "nurturing and loving environment".
Paige's break came after she made her television debut in 2008 and was nominated as Best Supporting Actress at Star Awards in 2010. Before her current incarnation as an actress, she was modelling for four years.
Her reputation as a sportsperson was the result of playing for the National Youth Netball team from 1997 to 1999.
For the uninitiated, the DSA is for students to seek admission into a school on the basis of talents and achievements that may not be demonstrated at the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE).
Besides Paige, the video also features a Lee Kuan Yew Award recipient, as well as Audrey Yong, who is Singapore's first-ever Olympian windsurfer.
Do watch the video from start to finish, because you don't want to miss this:
