It is that time of the year again.
The Singapore Armed Forces Military Working Dog Unit is putting up for adoption at least 12 of its veteran military working dogs that have retired from service.
This is part of the unit’s adoption drive that happens on a regular basis.
About 10 to 15 dogs retire from service each year due to old age or health issues.
They will be looking for good homes with suitable companion owners.
Most of the dogs retire at the age of eight to nine years on average, after having spent their time as SAF guard dogs or sniffers protecting the public.
Dogs that are not adopted will continue to receive love and full medical care in the MWDU.
You can call 6424 6623 (9am to 5pm on weekdays) to find out more. This adoption drive will end on June 15, 2017. A visit will be arranged to view and select a dog, as well as to ascertain if you and your home are suitable for the dog.
