The merger of eight junior colleges (JCs) into four in 2019 will be the first time JCs are being merged in Singapore.
Previously, the Ministry of Education (MOE) had only merged schools at the primary and secondary school levels.
Quite naturally, this novel piece of news, which involves that many JCs at one go, will draw many reactions.
Here are some of the kinds of reactions we found online:
Those who feel that JC is less relevant compared to other institutions
The "so why was Eunoia JC set up if enrolment is dwindling" reactions
Reactions over the choice of JCs to be merged
The conspiracy theory over why the move was made
Speculation over the merged JCs' names
And here's one that takes the cake
