If you happen to walk along the Clarke Quay area, you’d most likely see the following building across the road from the Central Fire Station.
No, it's not a spaceship or a new hipster cafe.
This is the show suite of the new Funan mall which we might have to wait for a little while more before it reopens in late 2019.
In that hipster-looking, chic floor to ceiling windows and wood-and-steel structure lies a sneak preview of what's to come for the new Funan mall.
You can don on a pair of special goggles and take a good stroll around the new Funan mall before 2019 comes in this immersive virtual reality simulation (IVRS) studio that look like this:
Excited? Climb Central rock climbing walls, Golden Village movie theatre and W!ld Rice theatre are among the venues that can keep you entertained all day.
And what's Funan without IT?
Loyal IT fans of Funan, Newstead Technologies, AddOn Systems and T K Foto, will be returning with bigger and better offerings.
Besides feeling woozy in the Virtual Reality room, you’d get to see cool things like this Lego model of the future establishment.
And if that's not enough, there are also activities that you can take part this Sunday at their opening festival.
1. Floral Watercolour Workshop by Natalie Studio
If you've always had a repressed desire to be an artist, this is one workshop that'd allow those pent up creative juices to be unleashed.
Conducted by Natalie Studio, the three-hour workshop will cover basic brushstroke and calligraphy techniques, as well as the art of creating delicate blooms.
So chio that it could be a thoughtful and unique gift for the upcoming Mothers' Day.
What the workshop would probably look like:
What do you pay for - Practice sheets, floral illustration samples and completed floral wreaths created in class so if you are interested, click here to register.
2. Terrarium Workshop by Mossingarden
People either have green fingers or they don’t.
But with the guidance of Charles Loh from Mossingarden, you might just fall into the former camp. At the two-hour workshop, you will get to build their own little forests using -as he calls it- the most underrated plant, moss.
Bonus: Terrariums are naturally easy to upkeep, so even if you’re born a plant killer, you might still end up with a perfectly maintained terrarium.
You can register here and this is what the workshop would probably look like:
3. Intersection by Funan #1: Does Passion Pay? [FREE]
Bored of 9 to 5 mundane work routine or need an inspiration to pump up your positive energy over this weekend?

Check out this super-duper cool jump shot by Yafiq Yusman in the show suite first.
