Be afraid, be very afraid, because otters in Singapore have developed the ability to climb ladders:

In a video posted on Facebook on March 5, 2017, by Bernard Photojournals, a pair of otters can be clearly seen climbing up a man-made ladder out of what looks like a monsoon canal.

And it was wasn't just one rare otter that could do it. It was a pair of them.

The video was shot on an iPhone, where the last few seconds of footage showed the camera being nudged as one of the curious otters banged it slightly out of focus.

But it appears otters still prefer to go down the good old fashion way:

Besides this incontrovertible proof that otters have developed certain adaptations to the Singapore urban environment to ensure their survival, a family of them even visited the Art-Zoo event set up on the Marina Bay Floating Platform on March 3 (which was the opening day), as part of i Light Marina Bay 2017.

March 3 was also World Wildlife Day.

When will otters start taking over key infrastructure in Singapore?

Soon. Once they grow some usable, opposable thumbs.
