Kindness on the road may seem a bit of a stretch these days, but that was exactly what one motorist encountered when she ran into problems with her vehicle.
While the EMAS (Expressway Monitoring Advisory System) is supposed to dispatch service personnel to attend to the motorist and manage traffic during traffic incidents, what Dawn Koh experienced from them when she had a flat tyre along PIE far exceeds what was expected.
Instead of towing Koh's vehicle to the nearest carpark so she could call for a private car tow (which was the standard procedure), Thiru & Kumar from EMAS took the initiative to change her flat tyre with her spare so she could drive to her regular workshop which was just round the corner.
Afterwards, they even followed Koh to the nearest petrol station in order to check and pump the spare tyre. Talk about going above and beyond.
