A 67-year-old Pokémon GO player died after he suffered a heart attack while playing the game on February 26.

According to reports on the story first published in Lianhe Wanbao, the man was a retiree who was an avid level 28 Pokémon GO player who had captured over 200 different kinds of Pokémon.

On the day of the incident, the late retiree was on his usual rounds at Marina Bay Sands near Bayfront MRT station, playing his favourite game.

He reportedly caught a Lapras, which isn't very common, and a Granbull, a second-generation pokémon, whereupon he suffered a heart attack. He was conveyed to Singapore General Hospital (SGH) by the SCDF where he passed away shortly after being admitted.

The man was known to have a history of heart attacks.

This is the first time a Pokémon GO player has died while playing the game in Singapore.

While you Pokémon GO players enjoy the hunt to collect 'em all, please also remember to watch out for your health.

People who have had previous cardiac episodes should consult their doctors before exercising, and increase exercise intensity gradually.
