A man who allegedly tried to discreetly take photos of women at a bus stop in Yishun was confronted by one of the women.
A Facebook post on Jan. 25 is making the rounds online after the woman took his photos in return and published them.
BEWARE of this cikopek around Yishun. Trying to be funny and taking photos of ladies. He tried on me and my colleagues but sorry u got the wrong ladies. And yes i can understand and speak mandarin. So all hell broke loose. Let me catch you one more time trying to steal snap pics and I'm sure to drag u down.
According to the woman, the incident took place at the bus stop in front of Blk 342B, which is along Yishun Ring Road.
When asked how she knew that he was taking their photos, she responded:
I saw then I call out to him. Must confirm first. First he pretended to take picture of bird, and pretended to talk on the phone. When the bus came he rushed to board the bus, but when we followed behind him to get on the same bus, he retreated and changed his mind about going up.
Currently, in Singapore, there is no steadfast privacy law to deter such incidents.
However, the law is clear with regards to insulting the modesty of any woman.
Under Section 509 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, whoever intending to insult the modesty of any woman shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine or with both.
