Virtual Reality (VR) games are supposed to be the future of gaming.

It makes sense. If the goal of modern games is to enhance immersion, VR is the logical next step of this continuing evolution.

Japan, naturally, is one of the leaders of this pioneering effort.

But while game developers in America are utilising VR to simulate experiences such as flight, or roller coasters, Japan is taking a slightly different path.

They are using VR to help us connect with others on a more human level.

One of the more popular releases is a simulator game known as Summer Lessons.

While it has been out for a while in Japan, it only recently saw a version with official English subs.

In Summer Lessons, you play a private tutor to a Japanese girl with failing grades.

And it is up to you to pull her grades up.

So you choose various lesson options so that she can score an A at the end of the week.

Here are some screenshots of you tutoring her.

The English version of Summer Lesson is expected to hit the rest of Asia in early 2017.

Creepy.
