Secretary-General of the Reform Party, Kenneth Jeyaretnam, has allegedly filed a police report against a videographer for a supposed breach of contractual agreement.

The videograper, Ben Matchap, was hired to cover a J B Jeyaretnam memorial dinner event held on Sunday (Nov 27).

In an email to Matchap, Jeyaretnam accused him of libelling and defaming volunteers of the event and also accused Matchap of delaying the delivery of the event's videos on purpose. He describes Matchap's actions as a "simple extortion racket".

In the same email, Jeyaretnam said that due to Matchap's alleged stalling, website The Online Citizen (TOC) was able to upload videos of the event "for commercial gain".

Matchap took to Facebook to share his side of the story where he said that he was charging only an honorarium for his services, which would otherwise have cost $600 instead of $200:

He also appeared in several TOC videos such as this one titled "TOC's representative at PAP's rally"
