Popular Housing Board-managed car parks all over Singapore have seen their half-hour rates jacked up by as much as 60 percent during peak hours since Dec. 1, 2016.
At 22 car parks in particular, the rate of increase has been much steeper, compared to the nationwide increase in rates at the rest of the public car parks (up 10 to 20 cents per 30 minutes).
For example, peak hour rates at six HDB carparks in Rochor and Duxton went up from S$1 to S$1.40 per half hour.
Another 16 car parks have rates increased from 50 cents to 80 cents per half hour.
