Some residents in the eastern parts of Singapore were jolted awake last night at around 2.40 a.m by the sound of roaring jet engines.

Were we being attacked? Were fighter jets being scrambled to intercept some unknown threat?

No, it is just the Republic of Singapore Air Force doing the mannequin challenge conducting an exercise.

The RSAF's Facebook page uploaded a video at 1.10 a.m. featuring RSAF pilots and ground crew doing the mannequin challenge with the following caption:

HAPPENING NOW: Our very own RSAF #MannequinChallenge! Defending our skies 24/7 as a team - let's cheer them on!

The comments section was inundated with questions, with the earliest posted at 4 a.m. asking about the sound of fighter jets at around 2.40 a.m:
