In a bid to cut cost, the company decided that it would be a good idea to reduce the amount of triangles in the bar, leaving gaps where chocolate used to be. This reduces the net weight of each chocolate bar, but supposedly retains its distinctive design reminiscent of the Swiss alps.
This met with vertitable outrage from the consumers.

YOU'RE NEXT, KIT KAT.
Only the larger bars of 400g and 170g have been redesigned, with their weight decreased to 360g and 150g respectively. The regular supermarket shopper will most probably not be affected, although Changi Airport's online catalogue is now selling the lighter 360g bars.
